Setting up my pedal for best sound/settings?

Hi, im just wondering which settings my dials should be on to get the best sound.

I'm looking for early metallica sound (kill em all - black album)

and that chunky metal pm mute sound.

I dont udnerstand what the frequincies and that do so can someone please help.

Suck out the mids, turn up the highs and lows as you see fit.

This will give you something resembling the kill em all where-the-fuck-are-the-mids sound. Of course you'll need a vintage Marshall to get really close.

On the black album I believe they found the beauty of mids and started adding some back in for a fuller body. I also think they started trying out them mesas.

Just experiment.
I get my younger sister to man the knobs on my amp while I play. And she will follow my instructions, "up the bass, lower the mid ..."

That's my easy way out. :wink:
