Hi,
I would like to share my experience about one particluar music shop locally. Recently I bought a Behringer pedal from the music shop and the person told me that there is no warranty and that is because nowadays, all pedals don't come with warranty. I accepted his explanation.
What can I do with the manufacturer don't provide warranty for their products. Similarly, I purchase a BOSS pedal too, which he mentioned BOSS doesn't give warranty too.
When I reached home, i found out that the serial numbers have been torn off both the Behringer and BOSS pedals. I called back to the shop and the person informed me that all of his pedals have the same "problems" and that it must have been such from his distributor.
I got suspicious and called up Behringer Singapore which referred me to distributor in Singapore and they told me they offer one-yeat warranty on their pedals.
In the end, I called back to the local music shop and asked for a refund because I told him that I am not comfortable with pedals which has the serial numbers torn off.
I can hear his voice that he was a bit agitated and he promptly told him that there is no refund and that I can exchange for other things. He then proceeded to tell me that he parallel-import his products. Therefore, there is no warranty.
I asked him why he didn't tell me that in the first place and he said because I didn't ask.
But the main thing was that when I asked why no warranty , he told me that it was because the manufacturer don't give warranty and not because they parallel-import the goods !
Somehow, I feel cheated.
What can I do now ?
