Seperate Multi-Efx and Pedal

Say if I want to get a Zoom G1, but I also want a expression pedal, but not the built-in ones like G1X, I want to buy them seperately, is it possible, to connect the expression pedal into the Zoom G1?

Yup, it's possible. Why not get the G1X since it has a built in expression pedal?
