Semi Hollow Recommendation

If ur looking for something to be played accoustic through an amp,why not look for an semi-accoustic guitar?

Semi-hollows won't come close to accoustic guitar sound.

hamer eco has got the closest 335 body copy & reasonably affordable in its category
i have an early 2000 korean made version with the pickups designed by seymour duncan,
also had an indo version, beautiful but tone wise differ possibly due to different pickups & wood age.
the best reason to go for them, not only its decently priced but this particular model spots solid maple top not laminate.. go figure

the mij epiphone semi hollow guitars are estimated to be within usd$1k+/$2k+ mark,
quite sought after as they are fine guitars & available only for the japanese domestic market.

semi hollow's acoustic not as resonant compared to full hollow guitars
it has a thin body with wood block added to its centre piece to reduce feedback
gibson es335 & epi dot, few of many examples mostly associated with semi hollow guitars

*this is not me ok.. hehe

here's an eg. of full hollow guitar - "Back in the day of the big bands,
guitars got bigger so they would be louder and heard over the horn section.
Epiphone answered that call with big, beautiful Jazz-boxes like the Emperor Regent.
A select Spruce top and a floating Mini-Humbucking pickup at the neck give the Regent
a warm, rich sound with enough acoustic volume to stand out in a crowd – plugged or unplugged."

gitar tong is gitar tong, no matter what knot it is still gitar tong, amplification done directly on the strings under the bridge

nice write up there,
the walnut finish very the awesome
difficult to capture the beauty in photos

:)

hmm well why not? why should we restrict ourselves?
not impossible but of course one wouldn't expect to shred on a jazz box,
& the level of feedback you going to get out of them with all that distortion going on

be creative, try to think out of the box, step out from the norms..
to me a guitar is an instrument/tool, an extension of what i want it to be
when me & my guitar gently weeps we become one, but that level i haven't reach yet..

take monte montgomery video clip as an eg of what he wants his guitar to be
normally we would use our srv strats or hendrix lefty to do that but monte did his version well on his own guitar tong some more..

idk mann...

the last term& reg said that it is only applicable 2 ppl in the us area...
u might wanna check it out..
plus i dun think tat there is a chance 4 us winning a guitar out of so many applicants....
