Self taught vs Paper qualification

:?: In learning a musical instrument, do you think a teacher 8O with qualification makes a difference with one without (e.g. self-taught)?

is a gd teacher and not just a player

paper certs honestly dun mean a thing if u can't back it up

are you planning to teach? imo, i think experience > all... but then again, experience is hard to prove on paper...

No differences. Find someone that can motivate you to learn, thats more important. Even if that teacher has qualification and experience, if he/she can't makes you want to learn. It defeats the purpose of teaching. Just like leaders, they motivate and lead, they don't excel.
