Guys, I'm lost between two choices, an edwards lp92sd and a schecter c1 classic.
Edwards lp92sd

NECK Mahogany
FNGERBORAD Rosewood, 22frets w/ Ivory Binding

NUT Bone (43mm)
INLAY Pearloid Dish
JOINT Set-neck
TUNER GOTOH SD90-SL
BRIDGE Old Type Tune-Matic & GOTOH GE101Z
PICKUPS (Front) Seymour Duncan SH-1n

Schecter c1 classic

Construction: Neck-Thru Body
Body: Mahogany/Quilt Maple
Neck: Maple
Fingerboard: Rosewood
Scale: 25-1/2 in.
Inlays: Vine of Life
Hardware: Chrome
Bridge: Tone Pros
Tuners: Grover
Binding: Natural [body], Creme [neck]
Frets: 24 Jumbo

The schecter would cost about 800+ while the edwards would cost 1100, i wonder if you guys could give me your opinions? :D

The common answer you'll get: "Tryout the guitar and buy the one you like most"... :)

In terms of looks, I'll go with the C1 classic, the rest, you gotta try them out.

I'd say go for the schecter if you want a modern look. Easy access to the up 24 frets with the neck thru double cutaways.

Edwards would be a classic choice. Bends would be easier on the shorter scale.
I'm gunning for an Edwards E-LP-98LTC in black myself.

a double cutaway guitar...

...vs a single cut

in terms of playability, which guitar serves your needs better?

Schecter definitely looks more modern. That being said, i still prefer the Edwards. Have a Les Paul copy (not edwards though). Love the sound. And it's much cheaper than this Edwards piece. Not even SD pups. DD pups.

i tried the schecter, a very good guitar imo
just, i dont know where you can get one for 800$
the last time i checked with g77 it was 1.9k and it's 1.4k in japan

Schecters are fine guitars...but one thing I cannot stand them is their ultra thick gloss finishing, especially the Korean made ones. Make them look and feel too plasticky.

just go with what u like better, look, feel/playability.

both guitars are great so nothing to worry about there....

on the other hand, where can we find a C1 classic?

both are the guitars i love. and i understand your dilemma. the last time i checked, with brandon of BGW, the C-1 classic will cost you $1350, and $150 for hardcase(optional).

I would go for the c-1 classic first as i alrdy have a PRS SE singlecut trem.

if i were you, i rather get a Epiphone Les Paul Custom.

anw,

you should try both guitars first.

the feel of the guitar is more important than the looks of it.

but, i say, go with the schecter.

les pauls has the problem with reaching to the higher frets.

as for the schecter, as its a double cutaway, its easier.

and, the schecter has 24 frets and the edwards has 22.

but thats just my opinion

Depends on what you like, a Les Paul sounding or not. Both have individual strengths and weaknesses. Personally, i will get an Edwards, it sounded great with a lower price and SD pick ups installed!

So is the C-1 Classic =] and both are of the same pick-up model. Seymour Duncan JB and SH-4.

Very true.Played my friend's guitar for almost half a year.An Omen 6 and the finish on the neck was so thick that its really hard to have your palm sliding up and down the neck.

Not just that. 22 vs 24 frets. 24.75" scale vs 25.5". Wow... They're not really similar guitars, are they?

ahh doi!! Bro ah, you nitpicking lah. I seriously doubt the scale length/frets be much concern in context of the thread.

Heh, if its of importance to threadstarter, the choice wouldnt be these 2, which to me is also rather different...

oh well, i choose schecter, coz i like it "beng-ness" in guitar world and how younger folks love it. If ah beng ah seng exist in form of geetar, i will choose schecter(japan schecter excluded though) to represent it!

these are the EXACT words i've been feeling about the a7x mad schecter users

for me edwards guitars are really bang for buck. Dont just look at their LP models...they got some really nice superstrats too.

Nitpicking? Bro, those are deal-making or breaking spec differences for me lei!

No lah... That one is Ibanez!!! I-beng-ness lah!!!

I have been using the Edwards LP92sd (MIJ) for almost 2 years now. Got it pre-owned from a working musician but the condition was very good, cosmetic and fret-life-wise. After that, I started to hunt for another guitar and the Schecter C-1 was one of them.

However, I realized I will have to do more work on the Schecters since they all have 1/larger neck radius, 2/bigger frets and 3/longer fretboard, not considering the basic difference in physical shape and tone shape.

With relatively short fingers, I decided to skip the Schecters and ended up with an Ibanez SZ520fm (MIK), also pre-owned.

Lastly, it is interesting to note that somehow, in my encounter with the SZ520, I get more sustain from string thru's. I have a Fender Tele and Strat as well.

Love both the LP92 and SZ520.
