Schecter Appreciation Thread.

A lil' bit of story on how I hooked up on Schecter guitars. It happened 2 years ago when I was planning to get my 1st electric guitar using my own pocket money. With the stated WTB budget, I received quite a number of offers, mostly from the typical brands like Fender, Ibanez and Gibson to name a few. But I was very reluctant to consider any of them since they are common brands, almost every other guy next door has it. Why join the over-populated crowds when you can have a world of your own? :p. Out of nowhere, a guy offered me a used Schecter C-1 and posted me with the photos. Although I knew nothing about Schecter during that time, the offer price and its features were simply irresistible. From day one I received it, it's no turning back for me and fanatically devoted to it ever since. And the rest is history.....

This addiction has also introduced me to A7X, and I'm lovin' them!

Heh man...For me it was the other way round. My first electric guitar was an Ibanez,as a lot of my friends recommended the brand.I knew shit back then,so i just "Huh..?Oh,okay.Ibanez."My parents bought the guitar for me.Then my friend let me listen to Chapter Four by Avenged Sevenfold,i got hooked and started listening to their songs, and found out the brand of guitars the much-loved duo Synyster and Zacky uses. That was it.Schecter guitars are my fave now,and it's gonna stay that way for a long long long long long long long time,if not forever.:D

i have a schecter too.not those high ones but just a simple omen-6.low-end but plays great with promises better quality if i were to get a better one like a C-1 or others around the same class.

i hope schecter comes up with more exciting guitars especially a couple of new shapes maybe.we'll get bored sooner or later just staring at that same design wont we?

since they already came up with a dinky and v shaped guitar maybe they should try out doing an explorer.

Wah John Petrucci guitars seh! But that one all expensive one, crazily so. I was considering a Schecter Omen 6 as my first guitar. The only reason i switched to Ibanez was bcos of the SL sale, just like so many other ppl here. I loved the Omen 6 for a simple reason: no-frills. Everything i needed, nothing i didn't need. Of course, my current Ibanez RGTCR2 then caught my eye bcos of all the 'fanciful' stuff and then i fell for it. But i will definitely get a Schecter in the future, maybe as a backup for my venerable Ibanez or to upgrade. Schecter's design bureau does an excellent job IMO, the superstrat shape looks better than those of Ibanez or Jackson. To me, the only competitor to Schecter is Cort, with Ibanez losing out narrowly bcos of its rather stoic designs for the RG series.

yeah i agree that schecter is on par with cort. although i think that schecter high end guits will pwn cort's one.
but still, their mid range guitars are around the same quality, imo.

I've never used Cort guitars...Can someone describe the features?

When you get older, and have more money, check out Musicman Guitars. Right up your alley.

Haha, I'm 32 and that makes me older than most of the guys around here. Spiritually, I think I'm in that AGE GROUP that you are referring to. Been GASsing for a Strat and Tele since early this year, thank god Schecter Japan has those models (very expensive though). I like EBMM a lot (especially Stingrays), but I still have some unfinished jobs with Schecter. Might consider getting one in the future. Anyway, your latest guitar is sooo yummy!

What ive got is already on photo gallery.. (っ・∀・)っ

Its a discontinued Gibson LesPaul Classic Custom.

(っ・∀・)っ

as for my wings, nobody wants dave mustaine's feathers so far. Still looking for someone to pluck them off.

Haha, just admiring your Custom in the Gallery thread. I loike!!! I'm sure somebody will grab the Dean soon. All the best!

Anyway, what's with this (っ・∀・)っ?

Those who are looking for shipping to singapore.. try www.gearhounds.com for schecter/esp/dean/washburn/minarik.

I know this is a pretty dumb question.
But everything there is like in US dollars right?

And you had to put the website here. hahaha
Now my hands itch to click on the "checkout" button....
*must save money!*

Anyway, I heard from a friend that Indonesia sells Schecter guitars cheaper then the US. True? I dunno man.

Okay, for example the Schecter Omen-6.
Taken from the link above (Indonesia) and Schecter Official website (US)

In Indonesia = Rp.2,400,000 = SGD$316.7816
In US = USD$449 = SGD$645.088

Big difference huh?
Well, if both of these 2 guitars are exactly the same, I would definitely drop by Indonesia to get it instead...

Hahahaha... ya... thought you were younger. Heh. Then again, the costs of a Schecter and an EBMM are quite different. But I must say the Japan ones are nicely priced, and well made. But they seem a bit "young-ish" for me...

Damn I feel old. Hahahahaha...
