its a towel/cloth/soft material actually to mute accidental open strings from being played.
makes ur playing and guitar sounds clean especially wen doing arpeggio or sweep picking

kinda like cheating to me actually.

In his studio work Synyster Gates actually just ties a piece of cloth near the headstock to get rid of humming or something else,or so i heard.And yeah to mute strings too,so the playing is cleaner.

Blackjack ATX FR cost 1.6k if i remember correctly..coz i was aiming for that one till i heard the price and died.

And yeah,Synyster Gates is using a C-1 FR with Invader pickups custom made for him in that video,the solo from Live in San Diego.
