Samick guitars

Ive been using a Samick since 5 to 6 yrs now.
been pretty good for me all the while.
no prbs at all so far.
i use DR Red Devils.
experimented wif a couple of brands. i hate Dean Markely.
Believe it anot, i can use my DR for almost for more then 6months.
and thats the least.

i don use much effects except for the standard few like a chorus, dist and a wah + Amp.

and in my view, i realy don care whether ppl tink its a beginer guit anot cos up till now i never realy felt the diff. i belief its the way the player plays it.

i do agree that Gibs and Fenders are much more known or famous brands.
and also very reputable among the masses.

but then again i guess its wat u mix to get waht u want. ... eg: amps, effects, pups etc and stuff!

i realy don know how to upload pix. if someone could PM guide me i would appreciate it. cos i hv a few pix of my guit. i added skin on it tho. n i can say dat im prolly the only one who as skin on a guit ..... i guess. hehe!

i mean ive not seen any other cept mine!

juz my 2 cents worth.
others mite hv differemt views!

Cheers!

i forgot to add.

the more u progress u will feel the need to get a better guitar.

i feel like that all the time. but since i can manage wif my Samick ... it will do for the time being. its not like im famous or earning big bucks to get any guitar i like anytime or throw some dough to experiment freely.

Cheers!

cheap guits have their place too...

I have an outdoor gig coming up, and no tent or covering or anything... do I want to take my EBMM Axis Super Sport out or should I take a Samick?

It's also useful to have a spare guit while gigging... I've busted a string before in the middle of a song. Thank God for the quick sound tech who saw my plight and handed me a spare strat. Then he changed the string for me and went back to the desk...

Point is - I can't afford to EBMMs... so a cheap spare is useful.

the prb wif ppl is they tink u gotta high class guit ur gd.
are you ???

so if u gotta fender or a gibs, means the player is gd? he's rich?
i don tink so dude!

yes the whole ting abt the axe n the neck play apart in making a gd guit but for wat if can fully utalise it rite?

ppl are so brand and name conscious that the will be embarassed if they bring a cheap guit out on a gig.

honestly i aint embarassed or shy to bring out my Samick on a gig anywhere. as it is ive already used it at a gig many times. i enjoy playing it, i enjoy using it, doesnt gif me any prbs. .... im happy!

decision, choices and perceptives are all based on individuals.

Cheers!

just wondering if those who play with "cheap" guitars have tried PRSs or EBMMs or other "high end" guitars. I tried the Ibanez JS1000 and loved it. I also tried the John Petrucci EBMM and thought it was a great guitar. I then went and tried a SUB1 which didn't have the same feel as the EMBB JP.

I agree that it's your own choice as to what instrument you play. But I personally think that there's a reason why more expensive instruments feel better.

Nothing to do with skill, mind you... all to do with savings... or earning power... and choices.

of course, these 2 models are different offerings in the EBMM selection. lacquered unit (JPM) vs satin finish (SUB1)- these guitars can't be remotely similar in feel.

Exactly... my point is that a cheaper guit has a different feel from a more expensive one... and if you have the cash, you can buy one. But that's if you prefer the expensive feel.

Don't buy Samick. Nobody uses it

It makes you low class. Buy an ibanez like most people and make whammy noise, or perhaps a lespaul and sustain for centuries, or how about a fender since malmsteen uses it?

Get the drift? 8)
Don't follow blindly, if a guitar appeals to you, do get it or be disappointed.

hmm.. it doesn't matter if its samick or any other cheapo brand.. wat matters is tat u like the feel of the guitar and how it sounds.. my first guitar was a vantage sg copy MIK and after 4 yrs, its still my main axe..

if u can't afford a new guitar and u like the feel of ur samick/vantage/any other brand, then just mod the pickups and maybe add push/pull pots for some variation in tone

Why not make a hollow transparent guitar with blood inside? that is more metal!

But back to the thread, i think that beginners guitar is alright to get samick, but sometimes more expensive gear just make me more motivated to play better ....

Checked out Davis today...no Samick! But I did see a Silverstone SG and a Suzuki SG...wonder if they're good...anyone played before?
