Saffire 6 VS Presonus 22VSL !

Hi there,

Would like to know how does this 2 interface fair for each other? Some pointers that I've seen in this 2 is saffire 6 uses USB 1.1 while the presonus 22vsl uses USB 2.0. Does this make a diff? In terms or gain for instrument and mic inputs, which of this is more likely to fit a metal sounding guitar tone which require a lot of gain input.

Please help me decide between this 2 as I'm getting one of this soon and hope not to get the wrong choice of interface. Mac user here and using logic pro. And I plan to record an electric guitar miking to an amp with my sm57 and vocal recording too. Don't have any vocal microphone yet but plan to get it soon. Need to get interface first. Help guys!! Thanks guys!

tone gain depends on your amp settings. just make sure it doesn't clip past 0db.

Ok, thanks blueprint! So, now I understand the 1.1 and 2.0 thingy. For mic gain and preamp, based on experience, which you think is better? More transparent and clean? Cos someone is selling the saffire 6 at $200, and the new presonus 22vsl is retailing at $266. Which one is worth the buy if you were me? Don't really go into their software package as I go more on the interface itself.

at the similar cost range. I really don't think I'd be concerned with the preamps as long as it doesn't suck.

my past experience with presonus is alright in terms of driver stability.
saffire 6 has some issues.

but I would find saffire 6 more appealing cos of the extra outputs and the Phones front. cos I find it a little dumb to have the phones input at the back. (personal preference. i'm on an echo audiofire4)
