hey guys i read books saying that u practice rudiment on the double pedal right if so like hw do u practice cos i dun seems to get it right? pls advise and share ur experience thank :>

try practicing with your feet what you normally practice with hands.

some examples include:

single stroke rudiment - quarter notes, 8th, 8th triplet, 16th, 16th triplet
accented single strokes
paradiddles - singles, double
flams, flam paradiddles, flam accents, flamacues etc.

a good 4-way exercise would be to take the above and practice with hands doing simpler stuff, like single strokes.

you might have seen drummers double pedalling on 16ths, while the hands improvise. the idea is you can reverse it. ie. hands on 16ths, feet improvise.

try it and let us know if its happening for u!

cheers

hmm i don't do much accents on doubles...but i do a few on one pedal sometimes during jamming.
to me, its about strength control? heel down seems to have a better strength control though its not as powerful compared to heel up.
overall, your feet is almost the same as your hands :)
here, check this out. might give you some idea. hope it helps.

Here's a little tip.

Start drumming with your left foot ONLY. This will strengthen it up and also give it better control and coordination.

Start slow. Standard 4/4 beat with bass, snare and hi-hat then progress slowly.

It will feel totally weird at first, but just keep practicing. It's like learning a new grip. It will feel very strange, but you'll grow into it.
