Rubbish drummer

hmm, you can't anyhow just say that, cause i see it as kinda normal, have you ever seen those crazy metal bands? i see them move at speeds near to this guy. also, it may be fast to you but to drummers is okay or slow? i don't know cause i'm a guitarist.

dude don't be sore that you cant play that fast or never seen anyone play that fast. That kid's pretty serious just by looking at his kit. And at 4:00 well I'm no drummer but I know pro drummers who can go that fast.

And I don't think that was achieved using video editing software, firstly if you jack speeds of video playback by more than 10-20% you will see a lot of artifacts left behind that tells you that it is speeded up. I don't think this one is, notice the cymbals movements after he strikes them, and compare it with the sound, the swaying of the cymbal after he hits it is kind of proportional to the amount of force (the sound) he strikes it with

now, EVEN if he speeded it up, for a kid, he's already better than a lot of people who play drums. So just give him the benefit of the doubt

The cymbals' movements are practically exactly the same as within the first min or so when he is playing a simple beat still and most probably didn't have any reason to speed things up. And at 4 min its proven that he DIDN'T speed things up too so, I think this guy is a damn good drummer.

And at FIFTEEN?!? Insane!

Oh and evident I just read your nickname. You should think about it and maybe soon you'll realise it is completely untrue.

TS feel jealous ah...

Watched the video twice.. The drummer's genuine.. No video editing or watsoever done on it..
Evidently.. TS is OWNED!!

Threadstarter: there's nothing fake about 4:00.
Many drummers can move at that speed. Check out Buddy Rich for the most classic example.
How long have u been listening to drums?

I wonder what the parents must be thinking. "Hey let's blow a fortune on our kid, including video and audio devices so we can record him playing... then let's spend sometimes speeding everything up, just so that we can put it on youtube and increase our e-penis size!".

I came into this thread to +1 for TS.

PHAIL.

Does speed really matters?

I am listening more to his groove, his touch and the tone of his drums..& I think they are all pretty good

^ what's the link?
lawl.

and that's good drumming skills.
even if it's not good,
it's decent.
even if it's sped up,
he has to have at least some decent skills to be able to provide a base so that it can be sped up.
so why do you say he's a rubbish drummer?

and btw, when i saw the thread title.
i though the thread was about a drummer who drums using those gabbage cans.
lawl.
turns out wrong.
haha.

though im no drummer, im jealous of what he has! i'm sure ANYONE would dream to have a full mic-ed up drumset in his/her living room

ok maybe i really self own/fail/whatever, oh well..to me it really looked dodgey. but perhaps i was too quick to judge. but how does that imply my level of playing? i'll admit i can't imitate what he's playing cuz i'm not really into speed drumming..

i might be wrong, but took about 1 min to roughly look through the video.. one way for me to tell I guess is to see how the cymbals "shake" from the momentum of the impact and I think if its sped up, the cymbals should "shake" quite unnaturally, which is against the laws of physics I don't think you can fake that. look at 1:44 the toms vibrating. 4 mins does look sped up though.

Juz cause your jealous you say its sped up? If he's good just say he's good lor...
dont need to say he's a cheater or something.
