personally, i would go with roland. aside from his astounding quality of work and professionalism, he is also a very fun guy to work with. and in terms of quality of recordings, roland lim productions never fail to deliver.

i prefer roland, i think hes one of the new and upcoming engineers in singapore. but go with what you think your band needs!

hardcore all go to roland la his specialty (: Metal all go to cedric just take a listen to Narfrat's album how brutal it is! If I was you and needed producing i'd go to roland. Both of them are really good. Like for me my band lepak would go to roland whereas mephisto would go to Cedric just my humble opinion. they both have their specialties! Cheers

roland or cedric?

Hey, not to be biased, but honestly, I'd go with roland! He's really easy to work with and makes recording fun. He also makes you work hard to make everything perfect so it hits the spot. To be fair, I dont have anything bad to say about Cedric though, cause I haven't recorded with him, let alone even met him. But from my experience with recording with Roland, I'd tell you to record with him. People may argue that Roland's sound is too processed, but I just think it's way more polished than most people's work.

if you dont know me or my band, check out our myspace. hope it helps mate! :)

hi..
my band is currently recording our EP with roland.
i wouldnt knw abt other studios bt the reason y i decided to go for roland was that he's got alot of ideas to put in each songs. and hes great at mixing. he helped us wif string arrangements which is kind of cool. yea. and hes good at magic too.

I think perhaps you can meet both Roland and Cedric, talk to them, visit their studios and perhaps get a general vibe of how it's like working with them. I guess you already have a general idea of their sound so the next step is probably how well you guys can gel and be comfortable with the producer/recording engineer that you are working with.

Personally, I've visited Roland at Big Ear Studios and have talked to Roland on numerous occasions about recording and his approach. Really meticulous and he does strive for the best and if he could, perfection, for the stuff he's doing. He usually does hardcore, heavier stuff, but I think he is also quite versatile from the various projects he currently undertaking. If my band does record with him (which I do hope in the future once we get down to it), I know I'd be in very good hands.

PS: Another plus point is that...Big Ear is a really really really nice and cosy place! Have you seen the drums? Awesome stuff! Bring a jacket/hoodie though. It gets cold in the mixing room.

If you want to record with someone who is worth your time and money then i think you should approach roland. He's a great recording engineer,he's willing to go that extra mile to improve your song.He is doing our album and we feel comfortable working with him as our producer. He worked in perth with some of their homegrown acts before coming back for NS.

Tell us if you made up your mind.

btw go listen to Trella,FBE,Forthiscycle,Audiocean and Autumn atlantic  ..

who says no one likes cedric, his work is sick dude.both producers are damn sick. They are both well respected producers. Thats why ava narfrat harmatia and others choose him. I mean seriously its ur preference for how u want ur band to sound like. And how u want ur producing.. We cant help you with this only u can. And a word with the producers themselves can...

i understand bro.. but why every1 going for roland nowadays? haha.. dats all i wana noe.. and u all found guitarist already? eh eternal slaughter damn power sia..

haha ask them both collab for u lor..
or ask cedric record then send to roland to master.. haha
i also dunno whether im going to roland or cedric to record ep yet..

im thinking of asking cedric to mix for dear arson.
based on his works, and that he himself plays heavy music and is a guitar player as well.

im not a big fan of overprocessed/re-amping guitars.
dear arson's recording was done at TNT studios, using DAT.
no metronome, no nonsense (esp for the drums). i didn't wanna lose the "vibe" and "groove" of the band.

the best idea, would be to meet them both and talk to them personally. then you make a decision based on whom YOU personally feel can do your band justice and capture the essence of your band.

if im not wrong, cedric is with sound advice now. great studio. awesome amps.

Worked with Roland before for Knightsfall single track (Letting go of you) and now working with Cedric for Fall Of Mirra Ep.

I should say that both of them have their own "Super Powers" abilities.

Cheers

from my personal experiences working with roland, i guarantee you that he will give you more than your money's worth. he has a lot of ideas and really goes the extra mile to help his bands improve. and he's also extremely fun to work with! roland will do whatever it takes to make things perfect and wont settle for anything less!
