Personally I would top up another $200 to get the td-4. Cos you will get a conventional pedal to practice on. The HD-1 pedal feels way too different from a conventional pedal which makes it hard to practice other foot techniques such as tap/slide, side to side. Heel toe works but practicing without the "throw" of the beater might throw u off when u get behind a real pedal...
The pesonal monitor is just a small amplifier (speaker). You can use a pair of earphones too
Hey,
I saw a Roland V Drums Lite HD-1 and was wondering if it's good? The price is pretty okay at 1680. I was thinking of buying it as my 1st kit.
Also, is it necessary to have the Roland Pm-01 (Personal Drum Monitor)? What is it used for?
Thanks.
