M.I.A Standard Telecaster & M.I.U.S.A 360 Fireglo Rickenbacker are used interchangeably in between sets for live shows.

That's what the generation before that generation said when they started using electric guitars instead of mandolins. it's one thing to appreciate vintage instruments and it's another to be a poser.

That is one beautiful 360FG , Bluemuffin.;)
How do you find the sound compared to your Tele? Do you use much overdrive with the Ric for gigs?
From your 'wallpaper' ,seems like you are not local. Are you from Japan?:)

Rickenbacker 360 Blue Burst.

I've always wanted a fireglo like Bluemuffin's , but they are hard to come by :(
Also looking for a 370 (with 3 pickups) which is discontinued. Do PM me if anyone out there has one.

Nope.. Honestly nope.. but i dare to say is a really good guitar.. rickenbacker is a really good guitar.. Cost at least $3000 each.. but if we talking about how modern is a Rickenbacker.. True that no kids is playing it.. Nowadays people jus wan a guitar sound good with distortion (which is stupid, no offence) and nobody is appreciate good clean tones like Rickenbacker.. But I will love a Rickenbacker and GAS for it!

I've driven a Ferrari replica, that was shit, but not a real Ferrari! That allows me to come to the conclusion that a real Ferrari is really a shitty car! And at almost a million a piece, they must not be worth the money!

Because replicas are can be used judged the real thing, right?

I heard lots of stories about Ric guitars thats why I started the thread......
@bluemuffin & RicFreak...wonders if I could try on those beautifully crafted guitars...
long time ago...told myself I don't like Fender strat cause its not metal enuff......haha once i laid my hand on one fell in love...

Oh my! Nice 360, Ric guitars aren't just well-exposed to us here in Singapore as compared to countries in the States, can't blame the majority here to being under-exposed. To me, Rics are so unique in their own ways, that they can't be compared to Fenders on the same scale!

hey you Ric promoter is it?
can I have that in nat or burst with maple fret board?
IICR Ric bass used by Rush right?? or was it mm forgot la..

:p

hahaha..No lah Bro. I'm a Ric freak mah.
Not much Ric talk on this forum. Feeling a bit lonely :(
Anyway, there are quite a few artist using Ric basses , Geddy Lee , Lemmy, McCartney, Chris Squire just to name a few..
Check this link for available colours:

Well Ric bro...
you can start a thread on Ric Guitars......Im sure people would love to know more about them (I would)...
for me it comes to a point where I want to diverse my appreciation on guitars not only to Gibson and Fender....but other makers too.
I've visited the website and theres so much to know about RIC guitars...haha don't know where to start.
cheers...

Don't think Rics are outdated as people today still use them. REM, Radiohead, U2... But expensive yeah. I actually went back to this dealer in Perth, where I originally bought my Rickenbacker and he said that Ric has closed its Asia Pac dealership. Dunno how true that is, but that means in this part of the world (outside Japan) you can't get any "new" Rics any more. Except those in current stock. Oh well. Sad.
I personally love the sound they have. I've used Rics to sub for the Telecaster though, as both provide a bright sound, altho the Ric is so, so much warmer. Used it on covers like Sunday Bloody Sunday or Vertigo. Great sound. And it's not just about jangle either, just ask Sean Lam (of Concave Scream) or Jean (of Giants Must Fall - if you want a sweet looking Ric, she's got a 360 in MONTEZUMA BROWN! Now that's drool-worthy!)

You are right Chris, Australia has no Ric dealer currently. See link below

Just look at the backlogged orders....all the way since 2007! Its really difficult for us to find Rics unless we get them from the US or Japan directly. Or perhaps,....ebay

Jean's 360Montezuma is indeed awesome.......and she's quite a looker herself too :p

You're right...But in Fireglo... That's the one I'm looking to get...

This one Bro?

Rickenbacker 4003 AFG (Amber Fireglo) - discontinued colour

Or this,
zj6jyt.jpg

Rickenbacker 4003 FLFG (Fretless Fireglo)

Fretless is not easy unless........you're used to violins or cellos:p
But the muted sound is unbelievable ! :)

I can only drool seeing them Ric basses in action,
Me too, don't think got maple option for Ric..
That board on the fret-less is a beauty!
Let's see if I can get them correctly:

Squire - Yes?
Geddy Lee - Rush?
Lemmy - Motorhead?
McCartney - dunno? heheh kidding..

:p

Perhaps after the release of this movie later part of this year, Rics will become more popular?.....or not ? :)
