Well, the Charlatans are the poor man's version of the Stone Roses when they first started. Now, well, they are just really trudging along... I guess.

Come on, give em some credit, though gota admit they are jus trudging along now, they've been around for a long time and has churned some really good stuff and hell, they lasted longer than the almighty (To me tat is) Shed Seven.

Alamak, they were marketed as such lah... Even Blur was as well. In fact, every band in the UK back then was marketed as "The new Stone Roses" (Doncha just love NME?).

That is until every label went out to look for the new Nirvana a year later...

That said, I like Telling Stories. A good roots-rock album...
