Recording Pod X3 with mic

I got a POD X3 at home. I wonder issit possible to connect a SM 57 to the XLR input of the pod X3 and mic it up with my amp at home. Has anyone try it before? Does it get the same result as using a mic to a mixer?

If the results is good. I may consider getting a SM 57 to record the tone of my amp.

ppl plugging in a mic into a mixer is mainly the basic use for its Preamp.

so just as much as your X3 has an XLR input plus a knob to tweak the preamp's "gain" , it should work just as much.

Thanx for the info. I may try it someday. Where can I get a shure sm 57 mic n what is the price range? I have no idea about it

i got mine 2nd hand mint condition at $90. someone's selling at $100.
if i'm not wrong outside sells around $130.brand new.
