Hi,looking to learn electric guitar(beginner and onwards,maybe?) from a school,specifically rock style,if there's such a classification.
I'm looking for schools that offer one on one lessons, maybe something like Yamaha, etc.?Wonder if anyone tried out lessons @ thOh,it's just opposite from where I live,so if they're good,I'd be happy to learn from them.
I'm also hoping for lessons which are affordable.Trying to save money after spending $635 @ SV today.
Looking for a teacher who's friendly and highly recommended.
(PS:SV was really impressive.I got a Rally GL-400 WH and a NUX amp from them today.Gotta say parking was rather hard to find though!)

Well, there is such a thing as school of rock or "rock school". Think of it like classical piano with grades 1-8 and all with scales and everything but more on rock style. Exams will not only judge your techniques, but also judge how well you "rock" as a stageman. I believe this is under Trinity. Pretty cool, too bad I couldnt register in time for the exams.
Here's the link for the contacts and info:

Wow.Such a school actually exists?Haha,I didn't really mean it that literally. Was trying to see if any guitar teachers out there, like, specialize in training rock technique, etc.Doesn't seem to work that way, huh?Looks like I'll just have to find a good teacher who can teach well, then, from beginner standard and maybe up.
(PS: Day One and the weight of my freakin' Les Paul and the neck's width is killing me.Hopefully these are all beginner's woes and I will soon get used to them!)

There are people that give one to ones, some music schools offer one to one training, and even guitar techs, eg. Beez.

EDIT: Oh, dont worry bout the neck and weight, its not a beginner's problem. Actually, if you dont like thick necks, there are other brands, fender/ibanez/musicman,etc that make gutiars with way thinner necks. Otherwise, live with it like others.
