Recommendations Needed

I'm looking for a multi-efx pedal with gd modulations, EQ and stuff. I'm not really too concern on the drive settings as I'm using my faithful GT2 for my crunch sound. Budget ard $500.

Any recommendations guys?

wouldnt multi effects mess your sound up?

haha sorry i dont know much about this thing.

but why not analogue pedals?

No it wouldn't. I'm using a Zoom GFX-8 for my efxs combined with my Sansamp GT-2 for my crunch rite now. Though I'm happy with what I have, I'm thinking of an upgrade.

Y not analogue? Cause I'm a lazy guy and I dont do tap dancing. I prefer to step on one pedal with a patch that I want what my sounds to be like.

Try Yamaha Magic Stomp.

Interesting.. But its looks like its quite a bitch to change patches during a song no?

Oh yeah, it is... well, it does sound good.

I guess perhaps not as live orientated but I could be wrong, would be good to have a more indepth look.

Yamaha has some nice multi efx stuff... i think there's the DG stomp.. or was it AG? Hmmm...

if you just need the few basics, you can get the BOSS ME-50 from Ranking. 450 only

Read it up and looks like you can only use one modulation effect per patch.. So thats out for me as I'm really into the whole phase+chorus clean sound kinda thing..

Yeah it sure looks very interesting but I've checked and it looks like you can only do up or down your patches. Might be great for recording I guess.

I think it was the DG Stomp. Looks much meaner too.. Hehz..

hey bro, i like the sound of the DG stomp too. however.....

if your looking for a modulation that u can change ard the efx order at every patch, then Boss GT series has that capabilty (i used a GT-5 for 6 years in the 90s). a 2nd hand gt-6 might be in your budget range. (if ur ok with used gear)

plus, u can insert your gt-2 pedal into the 'external loop', which is placed after the comp/drive section of the GT, just before the eq/modulation section. so it'll sit in the chain as 1 unit. just another option here. good luck.

The Line 6 modellers r not really for me as I still have to do tap dancing with them.

As for the Boss GT series, that was my original idea of what to get but I'm toying the idea of looking around for other suggestions first. It looks endless with what you can do with the GT-6 and GT-8 which is very cool in my book.

How abt the Korg AX3000G? Anybody with input on that?

I may sound fussy but at the end of the day, I'm just looking for something which can outdo my trusted GFX-8. Thus giving me a reason to part ways with it.

i love the modulation, on my korg ax 1500

actually all the effects that were stuffed inside the korg is very nice .. i use zoom gfx-5 b4 but is not up to satisfactory, whereas my korg ax 1500, i find it damn good, also its cheap though ..

so the conclusion is that if the ax 1500 is already very good , why not the ax3000

actually i sold away my korg ax 1500 as i need the money to change to single effects pedals, but honestly if i have the extra money i would buy back man ... of course its korg ax3000 upgrade to the better ones hehehe....

cheers bro 8)

extra: From last year survey in Indonesia(I'm Indonesian hehehe) 38% of the people that use multi effects use the KORG AX1500/AX1000(older version)

I have played an AX1500 before and its pretty comparable with my GFX-8.

I think I'm gonna go ZOOM again... G9.2tt anyone?

The G9.2tt isn't as good as some make it out to be. I think if ur willing, fork out an extra $45 and get the Line 6 PodXT Live. Very good sound and in-built recording too. My only gripe is the plastic footswitches though......... The Korg AX3000G is a good bet too. Cheap and good.

If I had extra dough, I would definately get TC Electronic G-System.

Limited budget wise, its now a narrow down between the AX3000G and the G9.2tt. I'm not really too impressed with the XT Live modulations as I feel they are more focused on the amp simulations than the efx section.

Now all I have to do is to go down to test drive them myself. But having started with the 505 to my current GFX-8, the affiliation with ZOOM is there... Haha...
