Recommendations for pedal for a beginner help please

what type/brand of pedals would you people recomend me? main genre : pop , punk , rock
i have a boss me 25 but still wondering how to get the sound i like. sounded so crappy might be my epiphone studio 10s (default amp which comes with my guitar)
help please

you already got a ME-25 which is supossed to be 'good' although i dont believe that Hahahaha but with any MFX you should be able to get a relatively good sound, keep tweaking and buy a new amp maybe? Who says more pedals = better sound

Save the money and buy the Blackstar HT-5 half stack amp instead of pedals, it comes with bundled clean/overdrive pedal.
Then upgrade to full stack when got extra money

Or...

Wrampler Super Plextortion pedal, and set your current amp on clean low gain =)

Yea. Totally agree with the above. It's probably your amp that's preventing you from getting the tone in your head.

I'm sorry but if you do not even know what type of pedal you want i can say that you don't need a new pedal at the moment.

whenever i set crunch / distortion or any other fx from the amp. it sounded ugly from my amp even with the super stack :C. is zoom g1x good? cause it have the beats thing to help me improve

mega +1. if he just plays rock i think a boss ds-1 should suffice. but than again he already has a me25. which i don see what the problem is. he should describe his current tone and what he hopes to achieve with his new pedal.

TS: why not try using your amp's built in distortion and tweak the sound with the eq knobs?

Have a good tweak on your amp first, I'd rather you spend on a good amp (not necessary >$1k, can be less) than to get another pedal unless you know what you want to get, or you are the multi-stage distortion head-banger.
