Recommendation for LP Bridge PUP!

Hey its alright man! i was just kidding! hahaha. kirk is a legend alright, some say as a "wah-wanker". well he is great in his own right, like you said hahahaha.. but hey he belongs to one of the most influential bands in the thrash metal scene!

hmmm alright i'll pm goose once my exams are over or something. and i think 165 is alright if the pup sounds damn good. but then again, most pups are around 130-150 right? i mean like those SD and DiMarzios. so they're a tad pricier than them. but oh wells, all boils down to the sound..

active PUs? They sound somewhat sterile and flat to me. And i really dont like the clean sounds of EMG Active PUs, not too sure about blackouts, never played them clean. but i do love the high output of them, the pups can scream like nobody business with proper amp and efx. dont really find them very versatile IMO...

165 is not bad considering that they are hand wound by Stan himself, and the harmonics and clarity is something you cant get from the normal run of the mill SDs and Dimarzios. 165 is not too ex considering you spend 130- 150 on your normal market rate pups...

i totally agree with you...these actives lack headroom so they dont really shine in terms of dynamics.

Very balls to the wall. Anything else to add Ized?

And very plastic-ky sounding. Kirk Hammet is one prime example, and even Zakk Wlyde's tone is affected by it even though he probably has the best EMG lead tone I've ever heard, which is kinda aided by the weight and mass of his LP.

When you play actives the tone is like "plick plick plick" for leads unless your sound is heavily compressed, which annoys me (although I like this characteristic for heavy rhythm playing).
