Hi all . I was lookin at the Echo layla 3g audio interface but its EXPENSIVE!!!

I have a mixer (yamaha n8). can anyone recommend me a audio interface PCI type to use together with the mixer?

?? w8. sorry bro i am total noob to this Audio stuffs.

Do i nid a audio interface with my Yamaha N8 mixer??? cause i am building a new com and i wont have a sound card for my DIY com if i dun get a audio interface/

Your N8 comes with a firewire audio interface. That means you only have to connect the N8 to your PC via firewire and audio signals between the mixer and PC. Monitor speakers should be connected to the audio outputs from the mixer.

Are you using your PC for anything else? If so, remember to dual boot. And if so, you may not want to turn on your mixer each time you play your music from WM or iTunes, for example. You'll need something simple. But fortunately, most motherboards come with build-in audio interface nowadays, which will suffice your needs.

I read ur post on DIY audio recording. I will be usin my GONNA BUILD DIY com for entertainment as well. So do i still nid to get a simple sound card for the speakers when i am not working with music?
So its like i record music and stuff with the mixer and play the speakers thru the mixer, and use my soundcard connected to speakers for other Own usage?

if it's gonna be for "entertainment" like playing music etc. watching videos or even playing left4dead etc. you just need to set your OS to play the audio through your yamaha N8. it can be done. basically your mixer / audio interface is a "soundcard" , but a really expensive one. then I'm sure your DIY com's mainboard (or request for one) will have those onboard HDaudio Realtek soundcards
