hi guys !
i am currently gas-ing for a distortion pedal as well as a noise reduction pedal.

currently the biyang otd-100 caught my eye but i do not know how reliable and how it sounds. anyone tried this before? i am definitely aware of the boss ds-1. but i would love to try out other brands as well. the music genre i'm playing are alternative, punk-rock, pop-rock.

i do not really know about any noise reducing pedals out there. i need 1 to reduce noise during pause as well as cutting down the amount of hissing or feedback produced sometimes when cranked up.

I would suggest you try the MI Audio Tubezone Overdrive for the genres you play. As for noise reduction, how many pedals are you using? You might want to find out the cause first before deciding on whether you really need the NS. Hope that helps :)

Tubezone for alternative, punk and pop rock? Not sure about that, but in the end threadstarter should be the best person to decide.

Threadstarter, what's your budget?

Agree with this...

But i guess the tubezone is rather versatile.. so yea..

yea how much you willing to spend on each individual pedal expands therange of pedals available to you

my budget is about $150. hope to see more suggestions.
i am basically a pure distortion kinda player. i need a nose reduction to reduce noise/feedback/hiss between pauses.

i need a nose reduction

I know a pretty good cosmetic surgeon, I could pass you the number to his clinic...

Ok jokes aside, I highly recommend the boss NS-2 as it kills noise based on your guitar's cleans. You need to test one to understand, it also happens to be within your budget. Let me just warn you it requires a rather complex set up.
