1. Get a guitar with floyd rose/something like that. Maybe an Ibanez S470? It's not bad. You can do a lot of divebombs with that. less than 1K

2. Rally guitars(Std value got them modded, get those with VR extreme). They are cheap and sounds good. 500+ (with parallel mod)

3. Get a damn cheap guitar with humbucker in the bridge and neck. Then you swap them out for some really high output pickups. Sweelee got some nice guitars but are not cheap. Get guitars in peninsular...or ranking sports... then change to some dimarzio/seymour duncan. the guitar shldnt cost more than 300-400 as the pickups are not cheap.

bro, the other day i saw the S470 for 1177 bucks. ;)

anyway to TS, yea get a good guitar that has HSH config or a H-H config,

I recommend ESP / LTD guitars in that range of cash, get a tremolo guitar so you can drop dive bombs.

you want those high output pups, i recommend TESLAS! you'll never go wrong with those pups. get the tesla plasma 3s, fit it to your bridge and neck, you can get those from mike at standard value. you'll own with those cool high output pups.

sorry to hijack this thread but i kinda have the same queries (hopefully this helps TS as well)

would a

1) jackson dinky (maybe a JS1)
2) schecter (cs-1)
3) epi explorer (change of pickups maybe)

be better if i'm playing metal/rock?

i do own a jackson dinky that comes fitted with EMG, the MG model, and hell yea! the Chuggy sound is there, and is real metal player. i'm not sure abt the rest, but my jacky is 1 heavy girl.

I thought i saw the jackson dinky at 1.8k plus on sweelee's online shop?
And Floyd Rose? Will it be a hassle to change as this is my second guitar.
Open to more suggestions

Oops. I say wrongly. I was referring to the S320 which is below 1k.

Huh?
Standard value lists the S470 as 880. Am i missing something?

s470 is a great guitar for leads and shredding and whatever is your genre. anyway. i highly reccomend it and change the pups and u got yourself a decked out S470:cool:

I cannot honestly recommend you any Jackson from the JS-series without feeling guilty. They are overpriced for the quality, after all the JS-series is Jackson's budget range.

U haven't heard of Swee Lee's standard 20% discount? They jack up the list prices, then give u a 'discount', so the final discounted price is the same as the actual selling price frm other shops. Go to Mike at SV, IMHO he's got one of the best collections of guitars in SG and they're really value for money too. i suggest an RG series, preferably with Mahogany body. 2nd hand is also a good option.

eh, how about those which are discounted already? like those fenders in BBC. do they still have the 20% off?

That one not sure...............only way to check is to ask for quote. But if it still looks overpriced after its already been discounted.............prob will be more discount.
