Likui: difference is...your teacher is a experienced guitarist(well known some more) and TS here is just starting out. different amps have different nature. not all good and expensive amps sound the same you know. some amps are good on their own and suck when paired with certain effects. i usually set my amp's eq at neutral then set my eqs with my effects. but thing is differnt amps naturally sound diffrent eg. some has more prominent low ends blahblah. and different doesnt mean good.
