Hey dudes.
I'm looking for an amp now because my current amp's clean channel is just not doing it for me.
Here are the traits i'm looking for.
- Very good clean channel that is able to handle high gain pedals
- Tube or solid state are both fine (Depending if their in my budget = 300-400)
- 1x10 is good. 1x12 is best.
- Preferably closed-back (Need some good low-end for the chugga chugga riffs)
Basically, i'm looking for an amp with one solid clean channel so that my effects would sound good on top of it. I play mostly metal, thus i'm going to be using my hardwire metal distortion on top of the clean channel most of the time.
Amps i'm currently looking at are the Fender Frontman 25r and the Vox Valvetronix VT30. Any thoughts on these amps? One thing i'm afraid of is, due to the large amounts of gain from my hardwire, the amp may start to sputter, which would be terrible. Any thoughts on that?
All other suggestions are welcome!
