Recommend a Stratocaster

alright most probably ill get a squier strat but ill try some other strats also.
hope they have the white in stock.

Novelty Music HAD a white one, Squier Strat. Only one though. Its rare to find a white guitar.

The reason I know this though, is because I bought the white a year back.
hahahahaha

Anyway, at Novelty ask David to see whether he can bring it in.
Or I can sell you mine :p

erm haha okay.. do you guys like rent his "studio"...? I heard this "metal" band in his jamming "studio"... cmi. and the walls are not sound proof man.

Er... Think it went for someting around $260 to $320. I forgot. Didn't really ask cause I already had one. But it should be in this price range.

I don't think he opens on sunday

oh ok. dosen't open on sundays? sharks.i guess i gotta check out "by left" then.

I got my strat copy from yamaha 5 years back. back then, pacificas were made in taiwan, my 312 MK II came with with alder body and swimming pool cavity. Now they're made in korea. don't get the budget 012 entry one though, they're made in indonesia and their quality varies a lot from guitar to gutiar. The 112's should be within your budget, but the item isn't listed on the musicplaza website. should go down to check it out

I also highly recommend Cort guitars at Sweelee. Corts are usually priced very reasonably and the hardware they use are good for the price of the guitar

only problem is all their strat copies seems to be basswood

I don't think their having basswood bodies is a bad thing... Some really big names prefer the tone of basswood. It's really a subjective thing...

Yeah that's true too, singlecoils tend to sound less bright and overly dark (not to mention less clear) with basswood. I guess basswood would be suitable in the case of dual humbuckers, or a player who wants a darker singlecoil sound.

alright question again, the Squire Strat California Series comes with what kind of configuration?
i searched the net ,sometimes i come across as HSS and sometimes SSS.
are the prices for these 2 configurations the same?

HIYA.
Yes, the Calif series prices are the same the last time I checked, no matter what the pickup config.
However, the Squier Affinity series Strat still has the best sound IMO. I'm not too sure about the quality at By Left because I didn't try it, but the guitars there LOOK okay. And yes, it's very true about the amp. I tried out a TGM Les Paul on a Line 6 amp, and then tried it on a Fender amp (both clean)... what a big difference, the Fender gave the TGM balls...!

No idea about pricing, but get the HSS. You've got a humbuckler :p

Yup. Very versatile with a humbucker. They sound better with heavy distortion than singlecoils, so if you want to play both sides of the fence (e.g. jazz and metal), you can. And you can get strat tones with the two singlecoils so you can pretty much play anything.

maybe I'm old fashion or what. I prefer strats with SSS... and you can also put a single-coil size humbucker in the single coil slot.. haha.
