Recommend a Good practise amp

Hmm

I wan a amp which can produce a nice clear sound even wen e level is put to low (soft but clear kinda sound).

Does Line6 provide such option?

most amps sound nice and clear when the level is low. not sure if you noticed, but natural distortion tends to happen at HIGH volumes, not low ones. :P

Erm

As in sometimes wen I tone e volume down, it sounded super soft & not clear den everything is lyk inaudible.

I once boost gain to 3/4 & den tone down e master, but it din came out well in my Peavey Rage 158.

Choosing amps

Hi,

You guys can try Hi Watt amps if Timothy still has them. Living Strings.
Anyway, what I usually do is that I take my guitar down to the shops and try all the amps.

Re: Choosing amps

you bud, Enigma,

Is Timothy a shop or a person? :?:
If Timothy is a shop, where is the shop located then?

Not a bad idea to bring your own guitar
to test those amp. Is this a normal practise, dun
wanna be laugh by the shop owner.

Hi! Guys... i tried this behringer GM108, it sounds pretty good.

Any of you own this amp now?
What is the pro and con of this amp though?
Is this a good buy if cost around 100 plus...

I heard of Solid State, Hybrid and Valve.

what is Analog Modeling though?

Living Strings

Hi,

Timothy is the guy in the shop.
Living String is the name of the shop.
Its in Excelsior, same place as Luther Music and all the other guitar shops.

I don't know if its a usual practice but I used to encourage my customers to do it when I was still at Guitar Workshop.

They'd take their guitars to test out the amps first before buying them

its actually hidden at 1 corner..not located at where g77 & luther etc are..its near the davis store? think its the place where they store their stuffs..its on ur left side when u enter thru penin :)

Just wondering, coz I've seen the cube 15 at ranking selling for 165(according to the salesperson), and in swee lee at 250 before discount. Why is swee lee selling so much higher?250, even after discount, will cost about 210 after GST....

Re: Living Strings

Thanks enigma. Whoa, you are a former Guitar Workshop employee, bet you know the tall indian guy then. He is a patient guy, let me try and try without interrupting. 8) If i chance upon something i like there in the future, will definitely buy from them... good customer service..

I think its good to bring your own guitar to test out those amp. But, its a little troublesome though.

I think they are targetting at those people who dont shop around.

hmmmmm.....

Yeah, I'm a former employee although some guys still email me over here. Kinda funny.

Anyway, that guy's lawrence I think. Met him once or twice before I left when he came in for interview. Cus' there was a long list of potential people who wanted to join and Francis had no time for interviews.

I think he was hired like one or 2 weeks after I left. Anyway, if you see Francis when you pop by. Do say hello for me.

Current squeeze:
Fender Strat Japan 1984 (replica of 1962 candy red model)
Modifications:
Earvana nut
GraphTech String Savers

Previous Squeeze:
Cort PRS imitation, cherry sunburst with coil tap.

Next Squeeze when I get back:
Les Paul Desert Sunburst with Earvana nut and string savers
and specially set up by Francis...... heh heh.
Yep there are some things I can't do.

Adrian
