Yeh, any recommendations?

I've been playing guitars for some time and i kinda feeling a lil bored with it so imma try the bass once in a while for a change.

Keep in mind you're trying. Therefore you might not like the outcome. I suggest you start out on something entry level. Davis has cheap basses and bass amps for you to start out on. $500 would be more than enough. Perhaps you can take a look there.

yeah i also buying one bass from davis? you buying? if we buy together mayb cheaper? you can take a look the models of the samick basses at the website

u want a schecter omen-4 active bass ? i m selling mine i think , i bought at 550 in april . letting it go for about 4XX, PM me if ya are interested :D

well actually i may want a decent bass since we're like having a shortage of bassists and so i might want to try out in a band

yay dats the spirit, if i didn't spend so much time and money into guitar, i'd prob be a bassist now, but still do enjoy an occasional slap and pop now and den

my regular recommendations:

Samick Fairlane- $250

from the way it looks the olp is more for pick players is it? hey does davis sell exactly tht samick or is the design diff? cos i see davis tht one doesnt seem th look like tht?

Nobody touch the MM2 ! It's mine! I'm getting it after my o level. And if someone has bought it, I'll demand davis to bring another one in.

you might have seen the other Samick bass (p-bass copy), the Corsair:

in any case, both the Fairlane & COrsair come in a rosewood fretboard version.

there are no exclusive bass for pick players, anyone can pick/ finger any bass. there are a keen bunch of slappers who prefer the single humbucker configuration like the MM2.

hmm i dont know but when i play with my fingers i usually put my thumb at the pick up there for support so i was wondering if getting a sting ray would mean i have to change my playing style with my finers wouldnt it?

If I am using a stingray bass , my thumb will be busy thumbing and slapping like crazy , dont thing have time to rest my thumb :)

cheers
