Keep in mind you're trying. Therefore you might not like the outcome. I suggest you start out on something entry level. Davis has cheap basses and bass amps for you to start out on. $500 would be more than enough. Perhaps you can take a look there.
yeah i also buying one bass from davis? you buying? if we buy together mayb cheaper? you can take a look the models of the samick basses at the website
yay dats the spirit, if i didn't spend so much time and money into guitar, i'd prob be a bassist now, but still do enjoy an occasional slap and pop now and den
from the way it looks the olp is more for pick players is it? hey does davis sell exactly tht samick or is the design diff? cos i see davis tht one doesnt seem th look like tht?
you might have seen the other Samick bass (p-bass copy), the Corsair:
in any case, both the Fairlane & COrsair come in a rosewood fretboard version.
there are no exclusive bass for pick players, anyone can pick/ finger any bass. there are a keen bunch of slappers who prefer the single humbucker configuration like the MM2.
hmm i dont know but when i play with my fingers i usually put my thumb at the pick up there for support so i was wondering if getting a sting ray would mean i have to change my playing style with my finers wouldnt it?
