Which would be the best place to go get a new skin done for a snare?

What kind of prices are we looking at as well?

Sorry... I'm a guit player here so questions aren't very direct.

well last time i went to nigels, he charge $80 for serivce. he does changes on site. but well tt is changing of all e drum skins. well its quite costly but it shld b worth the price.

another person u could ask would be drum_hobbist on soft i guess.

correct me if i'm wrong.

but for tuning, it's more of what sound you want, then tuning towards that. just keep the tension the same all around each round you tune.

but of course, it's always best to get someone to tune it for you, and ask him to give you tips on tuning it yourself in the future.

yup i think its true tt tuning comes down to wad sound u want.
but its difficult to b perfect. haha

of cos getting people like nigel/drumhobbist are the best becos they r wad we call.
DRUMTECHS WOOT!

wah seh.. i pity my bro here...

hey dude its DRUM_HOBBYIST!!!!
take note of the spelling...

the way you spelt remind me of lord of the ring ah... hobbits....

hahahhha

Ya...when I said skin changing I meant tuning as well lah...

There're so many articles on tuning on the net. The basic fundamentals are easy to follow, then all thats left is years of experimenting to find out what kind of tuning suits your sound and the various genre of music...paying someone to tune for you will only slow down your learning process. Yes, you can stand by and watch and ask as many questions as possible...but everyone knows, hands on is still the best way to learn...thats why cooking classes always need student participation even though amount of ingredients are pre-measured...right??
