this shouldn't be about how smooth you want the pedals to be
but rather, wat kind of settings the pedal has to offer so that u can feel most comfortable stepping on it. being smooth does not necesarily mean that it's better, it's all up to how comfortable your feet feels on a pedal
so i suggest u try out as many pedals and with as many settings from each pedal as possible. this way u can GET MORE EXPERIENCE, and u don't have to worry about wat other pple tell u so long as you feel comfortable.
although this method is pretty time consuming, i have to say that it'll be worth it as this pedal can last u a lifetime. unless ur rich? haha
i can't tell u much as i only own an iron cobra double pedal. personally i feel that it's an awesome pair of pedals. and it's adjustability is superb, the hottest debate is always on Pearl Eliminators, Tama Iron Cobras, and DW 9000.
if u feel that DW 9000 is the most comfortable for u, go ahead and buy it. don't bother about the cost.
