Hi,

My budget for these guitars are about 400? Any recommendations? I love them because of their twin covered humbuckers and design. My genre of music that im interested in would be alt rock to hard rock :D Any Help is appreciated thks!

I think Rally is more worth the 'kaching' but why compare with epiphone SG.. LP should be a better comparison, isn't? Cos i dun remember Rally having SG-shaped guitars.

there are a lot of 2nd hand epip out there worth a shot.
but if you wish to get a first hand guitar, rally is good too. maybe u could try UNO standard too.

I would Recommend the Rally GL-300 or GL-400, Just down to your personal Colour Preference.

I'm a Rally GL-300 User. So far, I've be extremely satisfied with this Guitar! Its Awesomely Build, even though its Made In China.

There was even a Rumor that the Factory of Rally used to build Epiphones! (Dunno if its true....)

Ultimately, You have to personally go down to the Shops and try the Guitar for yourself. Sync with the Sound of the Guitar. And choose with your Heart and Ear.

Good luck with your acquisition of an Awesome Guitar!

Rock on \m/

Thanks guys!

The thing is that i love the shape of both the guitars so i am in a dilema into choosing which one.

A great place to buy would be SV Guitars?

IMO any LP shaped guitar from China is going to sound more or less the same. quality wise I've tried plenty of them. for first hand, Rally is definitely cheaper but like all China made LPs, they have the standard quality issues here and there. Nothing a good set up can't fix. The only thing that matters is the resale value at the end of the day if you decide to upgrade. You are paying more for the brand after all since you know they come from the same place.

I must say it's more shiok to own an Epiphone compared to other brands when it comes to LP copies. It is under Gibson after all. It's like owning a Gibson and the highest end Tokai LP. End of the day, you'd still would want to own a Gibson just because of the vibe it oozes. That's my opinion but I know many people who share the same views. People are complaining about Gibson's falling quality standard but their guitars are still being sold like hotcakes. Tell me you are not paying for that extra vibe man!

Well if you are tone conscious, blindfold yourself and go through all the different LP copies the store has. Best tone wins! Quality issues can always be dealt with a good set up.

I totally agreed with u man! the best post i've seen for the day.
Yes majority are buying for the brands instead of the tone.
But will it's still up to your liking anw.
Brands give you high resales values.
What i do is camping at the classified section and hunt for good and cheap guitar, once the opportunity comes, grab it.
Buy it > use it > sell it.

always try the guitar first before committing. some people cannot stand the balance on an SG. I would prefer strapping up an SG compared to sitting down and playing it.
