Hi, i have some inquires regarding Musician's Friend product. I know there are a couple of posts about MF in soft last time... But there does not have an exact answer I'm looking for...

How much will total cost me, if the product I'm going to purchase cost USD $299, (Approx. S$467) the insurance fee and shipping fee, using the service of vPost will total up to?

I know there's a website is ishiba or whatever it is, but i couldn't understand a single word cause its in Japanese lol... Will be very appreciate if you could help me. Thank you

I talked to some of the musicianfriends people online.

They for one dont ship gibson stuff out of USA. Shipping is mainly done by V post. Also do expect 7% GST charge if youre gonna go thru singpost.

Hmm, i found a more recommended by people way, is to get it via Amazon... But when i keyed in my address, then press continue, but there's an error saying :

We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order by changing its quantity to 0 and clicking the update button below. ( See geographical restrictions.)

Any1 has an idea how to fix it? Thanks...

a better way to phrase it is MF will not sell most products outside of the USA.vpost won't help if they won't sell it to you...same with the error at amazon

use vconcierge, or any other similar services. you basically need an american credit card and shipping address

it must be registered in the us. vconcierge offers a service for you to use their credit card and shipping address in the us, before shipping it to you in singapore. i remember a similar service that is cheaper but i cant remember the name, sorry

borderlinx?

I used this to ship both my guitar and amp back from states... my amp 24kg and guitar about 10kg

I did get my shoe shipped before using Vpost and it cost me around $50SGD. They calculate
by either volume or weight so if you're going to ship in guitars and stuff, it's going to be expensive.

I'd say expect around $200-$300SGD for shipping fees and an additional 7%GST. For insurance, what are the chances of your parcel being misplaced?

You just need to register an account in Vpost. They will give you some sort of address and whatever info you need when you place an order from a site that does not ship internationally.

So when you are going to buy stuff from MF, just include whatever info Vpost gave you, for example the address. After everything is done, you need to send an invoice from MF to Vpost so Vpost will confirm your order and prepare your parcel when it arrives.

When your parcel reaches VpostUSA, they will inform you via email to pay them the shipping fees and stuff like that. After your payment is made to Vpost, they will then send you your parcel from USA to Singapore.

So conclusion, you need to make 2 payments, one to MF and another to Vpost.
Vpost website should have all the information you need to know.

Hi guys, thanks for the replies, appreciated.

5stringwonder : vpost usa charges me $70+ for my bass guitar (8kg+), $12.40 for base charge... I didn't purchase tbird iv, i purchased another Squier. But overall, i still gain

A typical guitar with softcase = 17lbs
A typical guitar with hardcase = 22lbs

Use this as a guide.

It shouldn't cost you more than $90 to ship a guitar using vpost.

Not counting 7% GST.

ok thanks. was actually checking with regards to the how much Borderlinx charges to ship a cab. can get an estimate using the calculator on their site but I'm not sure how accurate it is..
