Question regarding machine heads/Tuning heads

Does all 6 in line machine heads fit in to all kinds of stratocaster?
I bought a set of it and i cant fit them in to my strat because the tuning pegs are too short. Or am i doing it wrong?

tuning heads vary in different sizes... I suggest you take those machine heads along with your guitar to whereever you bought the pegs from... get them exchanged for a size that would fit your strat
