Question on Amplifiers

I have a few questions on amplifiers.

1) When I'm plugging my laptop/computer to a 20 Watt Amp, will the amp deteriorate when
sound is produced from the amp?
2) Is a 20 Watt amp enough for me to use max settings from Boss: MD-2 Mega Distortion/MT-2
Metal Zone or whatsoever amps?
3) No matter how lousy the amp is (unknown brand and 20 Watt and above), if I'm using
effects eg. MD-2, I would get the MD-2 quality?

1) Don't understand question.
2) Yes you can max out the settings on the Boss Pedals.
3) No you don't. Lousy amp = lousy sound.

1) Say, I wanna make the sound come out of my amp instead of the laptop/computer speakers. Will a 20 Watt Amp deteriorate?

3) So you're saying a 20 Watt Marshall + MD-2 Max Settings is better than a 20 Watt Unknown Brand + MD-2 Max Settings?

note: I put both amps in clean mode and I'm stepping on the Boss...

1) Don't understand question.

3) No you don't. Lousy amp = lousy sound.

Example: I playing Counter-Strike. I want the sound to produce from the pc to the amp cos I want the "boom" effect for fun.
So my question is, will it make my amp deteriorate?

heh, use a bass amp instead. I use my bass amp for ds lite and psp(part time only, main instrument still geetar thru it) and whatever that can be connected using 1/4 inch plug

oh and if wanna gaming sound/music thru the amp, as long you figure out the connection using 1/4' plug(stereo to mono) you can connect whatever effect pedals to process the game sound/music...

delay on game music is trippy and prolly useless, but if wanna fun outta bordom, its a must try

guitar amps don't really reproduce the low end (bass) sounds very well so you won't really get the 'boom' even if u use the guitar amp for playing counterstrike... like the others say, a bass amp is better.

And no, plugging a computer into your guitar amp won't make it deteriorate.. :)

20W i would say is plenty loud for home use. It depends more on the size of the speaker than the wattage I would say. If its got a 12" speaker than it should be more or less decent. If its only got 10" or 8" then the bass sound will be less of course.

hmm...
Right now I'm confused if I would wanna buy a 20Watt Marshall or 20Watt Unknown Brand cos I just want the sound from the pedals.
So, what would u guys recommend?

:???::rolleyes: well, it doesn't necessarily mean that popular brand is better than cheapo-unknown amplifiers. It's just about how you play and what suits your needs for your own sound. In Tampines/ Pasir Ris MRT, there are blind guitarists there that uses cheapo strat to a ZoomG2 -> Crate and they sound awesome!!! :D

Just my 2 cents

Reeally?
