well,i played acoustic for 2 years already..and i want to switch to electric..but i want to ask a few question..can a effect pedal be used on a battery operated amplifier?I don't know whats it called...carry on amplifier??And can a normal amp connected to socket stay on for at least 4 hours?

Yes. There's no exact class for that kinda amplifier, people just call them by thier name. Yes, otherwise, you got a real shitty amplifier.

It will not at all.

EDIT: Anyway, why would you want a battery operated amp? Travelling alot?

well you could say so..
when i was with my acoustic.i use to carry it around..but i don't have a portable amp for it..so since i switching to electric now.I would love to have a carry amp so that i can play haha.I don't really play at home you see.Family does not really agree with me playing electric.Another reason is also i don't have to carry a heavy big amp when i want to jam with my friends!Haha.

Ok, if mobility is what you want, I recommend you go for these(in decreasing size):

ZT lunchbox (small portable and powerful amp):

Line6 pocket POD (not an amplifer exactly, but it will useful if you dont wanna disturb people around you, can be connected to amplifers/speakers/PAs):
http://line6.com/pocketpod/

Vox Amp Plug(smallest and most compact of them all, but not as all-rounded like the POD):

These are those "amps" that will give you good tone with minimum cash (You can go Youtube and find demos of them). There are others, but I just cant remember.....
