Hey Guys, just a quick public service announcement

IF YOU SEE THIS AND KNOW THE PEOPLE INVOLVED, PLEASE HELP PASS THE WORD YEAH?

Funny that I'm chasing people to give them money.

Ministry of Sound has released payment for Ghetto Live (My most recent event at MOS) on 21st Dec. FLOW performers have already been paid off as Nokia released payment to me 2 weeks ago.

Collection Timing:
Any day in Gashaus - 114 middle road 7pm+ will do
Look for Mr. Jeffree Benet ("Jeff") or Sherry Chen
Call 63371967 to check if Jeff / Sherry are in
(because they are in charge of the account)

Take note that you have to sign-off that you took the cheque and leave your name / nric number

Unclaimed Payments
Who gets paid what
The people named are the people I have informed our staff to look out for, if sending a different rep, please call 63371967. just one member of each band will do

Ivy's Vendetta - Pio / Adam. Manager: Me. $120
Deputy Siren - Manager: Oliver Ow - $120
Project Ultrasound - Zali. Manager: Me. $120
Syawla Evol - Luth / Don $120
Sevenfalls - Syed / Eve / Roslan $120

(I know it isnt much, but we got paid even less than the bands by MOS to supply, transport and run the gear + do the sound. sheesh)

The plan was to get Pio to disseminate payment, but he's busy as he has become the new manager of Fluid Bar. (Poor fellow. I feel your pain. running a venue is never easy). A thing to note is that Ministry does not want to book another Ghetto Live type event from us anytime soon. Sad. Told everyone to support...

We also owe:
Withered Tree
Auburn's Epiphany
for Nokia Music Mobile

Love,
Saito (One of the few promoters who loves to pay bands)

P.s.: Catch you all at Rock the Haus Pt.2 this Friday :)

haha, why? I'm honest.

I was making a dig at the client really, otherwise I wouldnt inform the public how much BANDS ARE REALLY GETTING PAID THESE DAYS.

Its sad when you think about it. I've been trying to prove to the larger part of the industry that local music can be commercially viable and that supporting our homegrown talent will eventually value-add the nation as a connected, artistic entity.

But the problem is that between the corporate and government sponsors and the bands themselves are individuals such as myself that host / create platforms in order to find an economic niche. Some promoters actually get huge support from their investors but dont translate the benefits to their talents. Which is where the blackhole is right now in entertainment, hospitality and the arts. Right now, as you can evidently see, the only way promoters can get their foot in the door is by lowering the overall price tag, but its the bands that take the pinch while they get their usual margin. Of course, I'm referring to professional promoters, not indie ones.

The secret to my success with the brass is by lowering agency fees in order to squeeze the entire setup into a particular campaign budget. That's how (and some of you reading this out there have worked with me for several projects now know this) I manage to score alot of interesting shows - Novotel Hotel, Nokia's Press Conference, Street Performances and Flow! notwithstanding.

Bleargh I started getting carried away. Anyway. Yeah. Let's all drink beer

mark ah. i volunteer to help everyone collect k?

btw this is Dong here.

heh, and yes. drink more beer!

BEER GOOD (Unless you drink with Rui, in which case, its life threatening)

And you want to be delivery boy? If you are thinking of making off with cash, the cheques will be made to the each person's name and crossed haha
