Problem with a pedal.

ok I got a CE-2 pedal for near a year..it was passed down from my friend's friend uncle to my friend's friend to my friend and finally to me..so in short,it's rather old..but serves me well

but recently..when I insert my cable into the output jack...I need to kinda like tweak the cable head *rotate it and such* so that the sound can finally get amplified...

it crackles...and urmm..it is at the end of my pedal chain..and I know there is something wrong with it..

can someone tell me how much will it cost to service it? and where can I get good service? is G77 good enough?

get someone to inspect the input/ output jacks first to see if these are the main culprit. these are not costly to replace.

yep...there is a high possibility its the in/out jacks. My ds-1 faced the same prob, fixed it at guitar connection, now it works fine. 8) Usually when u insert a cable in it would feel sorta loose.

yeah,it feels rather loose compared to my MT-2's output jack!

so I can just send it to any guitar store and get it inspected?

It's what happen when oxidation builds up on the metal over time. The oxidation is not conductive and blocks the metal from touching metal. Just put your plug in and out and in and out like maybe 10 times, it'll break the oxidation right off.

If that doesn't work then it may be a loose part that just needs some tightening. If you're not confident of doing it yourself then you can try looking for help.

I don't think it's oxidation..I really feel like something is loose..the cable kinda like slides into the jack so easily..

there's no longer the "click"..

maybe a lug or piece on the jack is breaking off. open it up and check? or send it for a check before getting a repair you might not need.

The jack seems to be the problem lah... Loose feel I think could be the restraints inside loose already...
