Hi, anyone knows the price of an Gibson les paul standard electric guitar? and where i can get it at the best price?

Found! SV sells it at $720 and after lookin at the headstock i kinda don't feel like buyin it already lol. the shape is just cmi.

Dude I think you're looking at the Epiphone Les Paul standard, which is the more affordable version... The Gibson Les Paul standard has a different headstock. Gibson Les Pauls, especially from this year onwards, costs around $4K brand new if I'm not wrong.

Oh yeah, Epiphone les paul standard. sorry my bad.

The headstock of Epiphone Les Paul Standards says Epiphone on the headstock, but then the truss rod cover reads Gibson, but frankly if you want to get an Epiphone Les Paul... Do try out the Rally Les Paul copies Standard Value also has. They're said to be better than the made-in-China Epiphones despite costing only half the price.

+1 to the Rally Les Pauls. I have one myself in wine red. Excellent value for money. The pickups sound amazing, good n clean and I didn't see the need to change them. I have no tuning problems so far. Just upgrade the cheap, small pots to something bigger like Gotoh, add orange drop and ur good to go rocking on this guitar for its deep, thick, fat, warm tones :) The upgrades shouldn't cost more than $100, if I'm not wrong..:)

Im sure that is the case for the older epiphone models.
Thew newer one just has Les Paul on it if im not wrong.

anyway ts is looking for gibson or epiphone?
in terms of tone wise and PRICE is a bigggg difference.

rally is rally, not les paul.

and to the threadstarter i cant help but zap your points. but i dont think u gonna care anyways. u prob gonna make a new account since this one already has a bad name to it.

Yeah, the ones that say "Gibson" on the truss rod covers are usually older, Korean-made ones. The newer ones, not sure which year it started, has "Les Paul Standard" or "Les Paul Custom" or whatever the model is on it.

I currently own a Standard that's made in 2006, with the "new" truss rod cover. And used to own another Standard that has the "older" truss rod cover with "Gibson" on it, dating back to 1999.

So perharps the change was made somewhere in between 1999 to 2006.

whats wrong with the epiphone les paul??? does the headstock really matter???

I think the headstock's ok leh... Just maybe it's (slightly) smaller than a Gibson's but then the price is smaller too. I love using Epiphones 'cos of the price and quality. Though some may have questioned it's QC, I've yet to come across one bad-playing one (If anything's playing bad, it's probably myself). The trick is to play on the actual guitar itself, not the display ones, and inspect it thoroughly before buying it.
