i have the Graph Tech bridge saddles installed in my Strat today & it made a diff. why did i do it when it mars the cosmetics of my guitar? it's a necessity, here's the story...
the vintage type default Fender string saddles in my Highway1 strat are annoying because:
1.They don't stay put, shift when i change strings.
2.There are gaps in between the saddles hence enhancing bridge buzzing.
3.The action adjustment screws protrude to jab my picking palm.
these saddles were conceived to allow minimal/ no gaps in between them so they won't buzz when the guitar is strummed. they are also light units which enhances tone. i got the cue from PRS who insists on light tuners & bridge components to ensure maximum resonance from the body/ neck wood. massive hardware sucks tone. the action adjustment screws don't protrude to jab my palm either so i enjoy playing as oppossed to enduring pain while playing.
the highlight of these saddles is of course its less sharp/ angular construction which helps prevent string breakage, hence the name- String Savers. available at Davis, but i forgot the list price... i had them stashed away fro quite some time & only found them today during spring cleaning 8)
