Powerjam 2006 (video added in the first post)

whoa am quite surprise at the results today, was there to support project ultrasound and De-Ataq. Ok so Project Ultrasound was really good but it's not really justified that De-Ataq didn't get thru. I seriously think their original was fantastic someone really need to discover. However I think De-Ataq only got themselves to blame I believe they lose out due to their image. I mean seriously if I'm the judge i won't let them in too, the guitarist and drummer is good but what's up with the slippers man I mean come on let's get serious this is a competition. i seriously pity their vocalist and bassist whom were appropiately dress but the other 2 looks like they going to the market. Technically is only as good as they way you look coz u are no Jimmy Hendrix or Frank Zappa man you are no rock star so pay bit of attention on the way u dress guys. Being good on stage is very important but looking good helps too. U guys r too sloppy in that department. I hope De-Ataq are not taken aback by what i've said, I mean you guys rock no doubt but come on do something bout your image. Anyway good luck for the future and don't give up guys we all learn from our mistakes. I did man and I learn it the hard way.

I was there too! I must say I was pretty impressed with Bad Obsession, it was their first time playing live together. WHOO Crazy Train! :D
 
yeah true badobsession was great, but are they trying to imitate Ronin?Oh, deataq playtime was too short! I was hoping to be able to hear more of their originals but they did not get in, so its a waste though. Project ultrasound don't seem to have much originality. Risen sounded too plain.
 
thx soundadvisor on the tip...i personally was unaware tt no slippers were allowed though ahah...but well a lesson learnt..check the rules before leavin the house...and bad obsession was really good
 
i don't think bad obsession is trying to follow anyone. i mean, yes, they might have the same influences but i personally think that bad obsession sounds heavier then what ronin sounds now. de ataq was quite good, i was quite surprised that they did not get in, pity. i liked the grunge band, the nerves is it? they sound a little like the vines. not bad. and of course, project ultrasound was as good as ever.
 
they played like half of Crazy Train. haha. Each band was given three minutes to set up, and two minutes to play a song. So if you're going for the audition slot next week, do go practice setting up in under 3 minutes! :lol:
but I think, strict as the time limit was, PowerJam was very well organised. They managed to clear 16 bands or so in about 2 hours. Not bad eh!
 
I think De-Ataq played well and though I agree that image & dressing are important, it would seem somewhat unjust/illogical to get ousted simply because of slippers. Aftall, this is the heats. Anyway, good job De-Ataq; better luck next time.
& congrats to Bad Obsession!

thanks for the compliments. im the guitarist from bad obsession.
ytd was actually the first time we played live after forming about a month ago.

now the tough part is to write a song in 2 weeks! yup, we didnt expect to get into the semi's honestly.

anyway, we re playing at gas huas on the 24th and vintage on the 30th too so hope to see some of u guys there too.

haha i hope there's a lil more space to move around... i was stuck in that corner the whole time, if i move left i'd fall off, behind me was the mixer, drums on the right, and a bigass fan in front. =S
