Powering up my BOSSes

Was just wondering.. Im new to this world of stomp boxes.. Just shifted from my crappy GFX-5 to pedals..

How can I power up my pedals? They are 5 boss pedals in series.. Im sick of replacing batteries on every single one of them?

I hera about this daisy chain and stuff? Can some one explain? Thanks

Rough explanation

ADAPTER-->DAISY CHAIN-->BOSS PEDALS

What is a daisy chain u may ask?

It sorta splits the power from the adapter to ure pedals. That is what it is, a splitter.

1spot Adapter will be the recommended one by most people here. and you can also get the 1spot daisy chain. Both available at guitar77.

Daisy chain is something like a multi plug, which is hook to the adapter and power up all your pedals.

Get a 9v adapter for your boss pedals.

just curious, when you guys play with one-spot powered pedals or with other adaptors (esp when you have fewer pedals in your chain) do you all feel slight current sometimes when you touch your strings?

or am i developing some weird mutant powers... :? :lol:

I just saw the DC Block at ranking. It seems very sturdy and dependable.

i feel your pain bro. same thing happens to me. it's static lah. pretty harmless i guess. i only get it while i play at home. at jamming dont have :?

its due to grounding. not static.

I get static zaps all the time with onespot kind of power supply and my amps are grounded.

yeah my amp is grounded too...and when i play direct into amp i don't have this problem...but i never really tried plugging effects during jamming before.

only when i plug my effects in then i start getting zapped. most of the time it's can tahan but sometimes can be quite bad. like playing half way and suddenly some part of my hand contacts the string and i jump (ouch!), then continue playing...haha...

anyway now i just use rechargable batteries instead. could it be due to the excess current from the power supply? really? buy more pedals?

yea Aenimic is correct. the more pedals you have, the less chance you have of getting shock/zapped.. :wink:
