Powering Sansamp GT2

The problem now is that i burned it slightly when I used one of those china adaptors. But there seems to be no problem when I use these adaptors for a boss pedal. What's the difference between GT2 and the normal boss pedals?

No difference i think. both 9v?

I had one NEWSTAR adaptor before. Very not useful. Got it from some hardware stall for 30+.

I tried powering 4 pedals at one go, my adaptor blew. Buttons all flew out. Not kidding lol.

i think the normal daisy chains heads aint suitable for the GT2 right?
i tried to power my friend's GT2 with my standard chain but the power outlet isnt compatible.

GT2 need to put to + polarity..that's what i did ....other pedals like boss digi dod etc is - polarity..but the pedal should state that clearly...

huh? + polarity? My adaptor (visual sound) aint got polarity option.

Came like a nokia adaptor. What do i do? I can power the GT-2.

Using an ibanez daisy chain. Powering a few boss-es and gt-2 at the same time.

What will happen if the polarity is not "set properly"?

my adaptor is multi type...can choose + and - polarity, 3 to 15V..i tried - cannot, then tried + and it worked...dunno where i saw the + polarity thing...maybe inside of the pedal..

but my rat2 was different. the adaptor head thingy is diff. thats why i bought a convertor. but my gt-2's adaptor head is the same as boss. one hole with one needle inside.

Guys, the GT2 is NOT + polarity.. its is the same as Boss Pedals.

It should work with any 9v adaptor with a - polarity. Provided the adaptor can supply enough power.

And yes, the power jack is the standard jack, it works with daisy chains as per normal.

One of the best power supplies is the Visual Sound 1Spot adaptor. Its 9v and - polarity, capable of powering up to 1700mA (up to 20 pedals or so). Plus its quieter than most adaptors out there, like the noisy Boss adaptors.

Well, I put the polarity of my adaptor to + and it worked! DO NOT put your adaptor to -, as I did, if your adaptor can power up to 1000mAh. I almost fried mine... smelt a bit of solder smell and now the Tweed channel got some slight hiss. I'm using a MW china brand adaptor. (bigger version)

Ippier, you sure? I mean, I am very sure its a - polarity.... it might work for you somehow, but thats not the way to do it...

Anyone with the GT2? Can verify this via manual?

The manual says this

USE DC POWER SUPPLY ONLY!
DC power supply specifications

-9v DC regulated or unregulated, 100mA minimum
-2.1mm female plug, center negative (-)

I'm pretty sure. I tried on two china adaptors, newstar and the MW one i mentioned earlier.. the led doesn't light up at all when I put their polarity to - ... and I almost fried my pedal with my large MW adaptor.
Maybe someone can clear this up for us?

Mines the same as boss pedal. And it was ok when i used it together with my visual sound.

had a chat earlier on with mrmisse he say its ok as long as the daisy chain fits. Showing its - polarity.

if its another or something, u gotta buy the convertor.

and he said its not wise to mix diff polarity pedals together. like boss and proco rat. even though u got the convertor, still will cause the adaptor to burn or something.

thats what he say, feedbacks from people.

Its center neg confirmed now...

Now, stop using your china adaptors and get the 1Spot. Please get something thats reliable... don't end up frying even more pedals!

For your information, the manual I read the power supply information out from was printed... I asked for the manual from the tech21 pple via email a few days ago.
My boss pedals are -ve polarity for sure and the china adaptors work at ONLY -ve polarity for them. The adaptors work at ONLY +ve polarity for my GT2.I don't think such an obvious thing will mix up one, and for two adaptors at that.
There seems to be 2 versions of the GT2. I suspect mine is the older version.
Can I ask what colour is your GT2's jack? Mine is silver..
