But that doesn't mean they work the same and are made with the same QC or parts.

E.g. Dimarzios come with a brass shaft, current CTS pots come with aluminium shafts. Dimarzios have a more linear taper but CTS has a "jump" in taper from 7 - 10.

Take Dimarzios if you really enjoy a smooth taper. Take CTS if you rely on vol knob tweaking to switch between gain levels especially on a tube amp - but IMO, the current standard CTS pots are... poorly made.

bout the taper, it doesnt go by brand, but more on whether is it a log pot or linear pot.

just need to find out before buying, whether its a A or B stamped on the pot. If dont have, heh, just buy and use mutimeter to figure out. Both will work for geetar, although if wanna follow strightly, log pot for vol and linear for tone. Reasons why can be googled thru searching for "potentiometer, secret life of potentiometer" etc.

gotoh, allparts usually will have such indication on it. Just need to look at the right place. Usually theres indication either at the base of the pot or stamped letter and value on the pot.
