i guess each place has their strengths and weaknesses, yamaha has a standard formula in teaching by their textbook ( i was there for 13 months) in the past.
play-by-ear is quite a new school, but its rates are not bad, just needa get the right teacher.
northwood is purely customized to your needs but the pricing is very steep.
my advice is dont be in a hurry to join a school, go check around the pop music teaching industry a bit and find out more from students of each school before coming to a decision.
