I never thought I'd recommend these digital stuff.. but well, for pop, they will suffice, since playing pop is a bit like session playing, taking into account that pop tries to assimilate other genres of music into itself. There's latin tinged pop, ala Shakira and J Lo, there's funk ala Jamarquio (sp), there's rock ala Linkin Park, there's jazz ala Norah Jones, and so on.
hmm, good point Dan. But those modellers are off my budget for now la.
I'll have to make do with something else first. What does everyone think of the Visual Sound H2O?
assuming you play tons of genres.... dont waste your money on pedals. They cost more. Period. POD live is like 750 or so... wont take more than 4 pedals only to equal that amount. Not enough sounds buddy..
I know what you mean, the thing is I won't be playing a wide range of genres. Just some pop-rock bands like Mayday and Beyond. For that purpose I think a chorus and delay will suffice? Anyone tried the h20?
Boss Super Chorus CH1
Boss Super Overdrive SD1
Boss Distortion DS1
It should get you a very wide range of tones. And they're pretty cheap 2nd hand. You shouldn't spend more than say, $200 for all 3 pedals.
the other option is obviously digital, which imo for what you're looking for is the thing to get (since on a budget).
Korg AX1500G has quite a number of fans in this forum Can get about $200 2nd hand.
Also, you might want to try a Zoom G2 at Citymusic (and heh give us a review of it!).. heard it's pretty impressive for the price. (Under $200 i think.)
