"pop" after turning Guitar combo amp off

Hey guys,

As stated in the title, there would be a "pop" sound after turning my guitar amp off. It's a combo amp,not a tube amp. More specifically a Spider IV 75. Does the "pop" signify anything wrong with my guitar amp? How do you get rid of the "pop" sound after turning the guitar amp off?

Thanks,

Perhaps it is normal for some amps. My Sound Drive amp has been working fine for years now, and yes, it gives a pretty loud 'pop!' whenever I turn it off. When I turn it on, there is also a 'pop!' but a much softer one. I guess it's normal.

its prolly the difference in potential between "on" state and "off" state.

Anyway, for safety and good practise, always turn down the volume to minimum before shutting down or pulling out the cables from instrument. Be it this kind popping sound or crackling sound, if its at high volume, the sudden outburst of it will either shock/knockout anyone around or cause damged to speaker cone in long run.
