Polishing related help needed.

I used Autosol on a highly polished chrome surface, (stupid, agreed) and now this polished chrome surface is blemished with lots of fine scratches.

Are there any reasonably cheap means to restore the polished chrome surface to its prior lustre?
High-speed buffing is definitely out of the question.

Is it advisable to use something finer than Autosol, and what is there that is finer than Autosol?

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for all the replies. I just realised that this chrome plate might not be metal after all. Maybe it's something like chrome plating.

Will brasso oil and silicon glaze still work? And these items are readily available in hardware stores, right?

Thanks again!

brasso is very fine
far better den ur autosol.. autosol are actually imo rough..
if you wish you may buy the 3m swirl removers or if yours is plastic or sort of non-metallic can get 3m plastic polish.but 3m stuff are ex jus 2 warn u :)

Thanks Gr3y, my budget is no more than 20 bucks. I hope my budget will hold.

Well, the thing is, I only 'think' it's chrome plated. So would I do more harm to it by using 3m's plastic polish? Swirl remover?

Anyway, I appreciate all your replies. Cheers.
