ok..another question, how many of us here own upright basses?i saw 1 at the shop at esplanade n it costs.. :? $40k...

I have an Azola electric upright. But I'm really not good on that...I need lots of practice. I don't spend much time with it though.

ive seen green day's mike dirnt play a fender fretless bass before on yahoo music vids (if im right its a fender precision bass)

it takes skill to play one. i used to learn violin at a young age. the hearing must be really good to actually play a fretless.

Your knowledge of position playing helps alot too with an unlined fretless. :)

I don't even dare to try out an unlined fretless man, will be all over the place, look bad only.

Well, truth be told - if you make it a point to fret properly (i.e. pressing right next to the fret), making the transition to a fretless lined or unlined really isn't that hard. It's just overcoming the initial mental block, and finding the balls to play out that's the problem :)

That and forgetting to zip up your fly after concentrating too hard on intonation

Lol, i've tried lined fretless basses before, but seriously, the unlined is just scary man.

Ramone: ONZ! Ahahahahahaha

I tried the unlined one at G77, it's really fun! there are dots along the top that guide you anyway

..

U RAWK SIA!

Been playing unlined for about 5 years. Have 2 unlined electric 4 stringers and an unlined 5 string acoustic. :D
